Students who have earned less than thirty hours of college credit and are enrolled in twelve or more hours at Arkansas State University at Jonesboro are required to live in Arkansas State University's student housing. We believe that living on campus will contribute to the overall success of the student through specialized programming designed to promote awareness of campus resources, encourage faculty and staff interactions, enhance leadership skills, and develop appropriate academic habits.

Exceptions to this policy include:

  1. Student is married and living with his/her spouse.
  2. Student is military veteran with at least two year of active service.
  3. Student is 21 years old prior to the opening day for the residence halls as specified in the Academic Calendar for the term for which the waiver is requested.
  4. Student commutes from the permanent legal residence of a parent or guardian.
  5. The student has a medical hardship that would require him/her to make other living arrangements.

Request for Waiver of Living on Campus forms must be completed and return to Residence Life to be considered for an exception to the policy.
